From Switzerland to Zanzibar
I’m Tajana. I grew up in Switzerland and have lived in Zanzibar with my dog Dollar since 2024. Here, I devote my energy to helping stray dogs.

Care has always mattered to me
Growing up with a deaf father, a hard-of-hearing mother and sign language taught me openness and empathy. I trained and worked as a care specialist for people with disabilities. Taking responsibility for others has always been part of my life.

How TAJDO began
Dollar came to me from a shelter in Italy. On my first visit to Zanzibar, I felt at home – and saw dogs living with hunger, injuries and illness. That experience inspired TAJDO: practical help and lasting change for animals and people, with Dollar by my side.

A second chance
I’m Dollar. My life began on the streets of Italy. After five years in a shelter, I found a home with Tajana.

Always together
We travelled across Europe before moving to Zanzibar. Today, I’m an older dog and have lost my sight, but the sea air, peace and being close to Tajana give me comfort and security.
